How would you describe your style of music?

Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Honky Tonk music about hot rod cars and mean women....and nice ones too!

How did you get into this style of music?

My parents 45 rpms, going to car shows in Jersey and seeing the Razorbacks and discovering the REV!

How did you come up with your band name?

Made a huge list of potential names and mixed them up until I found something original.

What is the background of your band members?

My guys all come from a punk rock background.  My background is very name it.

Who are they as individuals?

Hard working guys that want to do nothing more than play music.

At live shows or the official website and at every possible download site known to man (iTunes, Amazon, etc)

How long has your band been together?

Since 2002

What do you like the most about the Rockabilly scene?

All of it......mostly the loyalty of the people.

Who are your music idols, who influences your music?

Setzer, The Rev, All the 50's guys, old Doo-wop etc.

What future events do you have planned?

Keep making new records, keep touring and keep making the show fresh.

Do your band members have day jobs or do they make their dime as professional musicians?

We are full time

I collect records

If so, what do you/they collect?

Mostly put in my jukebox....and some LPs if they are interesting.

What is your most memorable experience at a concert?

Playing in Paris, France for a giant crowd of screaming people!!

What was your funniest memory at a concert?

Every show has a "that guy" or girl......everything is funny to us.

Is there anything that you would like to add about yourself or your band?

We just want to play.....make records and meet new people and make sure that everyone is having a truly good time and that we do our best to make the venue money.

Last but not least, what makes this band tick?

"Hot Rod Walt" aka Walt Richards, was born in 1966.  Lived the first half of his life in the very rural town of Beemerville, New Jersey.  Moved to North Port Florida in 1989.  In 2006, moved to the Atlanta area where the music scene is huge and the southern hospitality is overwhelming.   Not only does he play guitar and sing in the Psycho-DeVilles, but works on custom cars and motorcycles, does hand pinstriping and really just about anything you can imagine on a car or bike.  He even just hand pinstriped over 160 special edition "Hot Rod Walt" Gretsch Guitars.  He also has a pretty cool car collection that includes a couple 51' Mercs and couple 32' Fords.  Also a 34' Coupe, the famed "Yellow Jacket"....And....he has a very cool wife named Sharlene.  

Hot Rod Walt and the Psycho-DeVilles was formed in 2002.    They have released 7 CDs..."Out of the Garage and onto the Street", "Psycho Cadillac", "Supercharger", "Night Prowler", "Rockabilly Rodeo", "Country Gold" and "Rock 'N' Roll Life".... This is Hot Rod Walt's tenth full length cd overall, having had a few bands in the past as well.  He takes pride in recording only original music and has about 200 original songs to his name.  

He also takes great pride in playing nothing but Gretsch guitars.....Nothing else compares.

Hot Rod Walt shares the stage with two talented and loyal musicians....Buford T. Ogletree on the Upright bass and Steve "Burnout" Barnett the hard hittin' punk rock drummer that never runs out of energy.  

Together the Psycho-DeVilles perform a super high energy show.  Singing songs about hot rod cars and mean women..................

In 2010 The Psycho-DeVilles had the pleasure of being a part of two TV shows.  "Auction Kings" on the Discovery Channel.  Where Hot Rod Walt auctioned off his Pink 1960 Cadillac.  Also, "Cafe Racer" on Discovery HDTheater/velocity, where they brought him a custom built Cafe Racer motorcycle to test ride and build a story on the band.

In 2011, they sent HRW off to the famous Hawleywoods Barbershop for a story on the Pompadour.

In 2012, they made and featured a Music video of their song "Ton UP".

In 2013, The Psycho-DeVilles were featured as the "Tennessee Three" in the Lifetime movie, "Ring of Fire" with Jewel and Matt Ross as Johnny Cash and June Carter.

The Psycho-DeVilles have toured the U.S. and Europe extensively and have been privileged to meet many fine and generous people and have shared the stage with some of the absolute best musicians.
