"Jack Rabbit Slim"

How would you describe your style of music?
This is a Rock n roll / Rockabilly band . The style is harder & innovative with mainly original numbers . Wild & energetic!

How did you get into this style of music?
Most of us have been around for some time & grew up around the music & playing in bands .

How did you come up with your band name?
No surprises, it's from Pulp Fiction .

What is the background of your band members?
All have been in well known U.K. Scene bands - Bob in Bob & the Bearcats
(with Darrel Higham ) , Paul played guitar for Dave Phillips for over 20 years , Tony drummed in Jessie & the Orbits & Nico co-formed young punkabilly band -Knocksville .

Where can people purchase your music and or merchandise?
At our gigs we always sell merch , CDs , Vinyl , dvds & Tees - most of which we can sell via our Facebook page - Our label obviously has a good range of our music -
www.western-star.co.uk

How long has your band been together?
The band was formed in 2004 by Bob . There's been a few line up changes over the years with the current fellas together for the last 2 years .

Who are your music idols, who influences your music?
It's tough to center on just the one , & there's too many to list , but to name a few - Elvis , Gene , The Sonics , Johnny Burnette ....

What future events do you have planned?
Lots of UK & European dates & the Amazing
NASHVILLE BOOGIE festival .

Do your band members have day jobs or do they make their dime as professional musicians?
Sadly Rock n Roll don't pay - we've all got full time jobs !!

What is your most memorable experience at a concert?
We've been lucky over the years having played some great festivals - VLV , The Rave , High , Hotrod Hayride , plus we've appeared at UK mainstream fests - Glastonbury & Isle of Wight - but the best thing has to be a jumping crowd singing your own songs back at you !!

What was your funniest memory at a concert?
We always have a laugh both at gigs & on the road . Sharing banter & pranks .

Is there anything that you would like to add about yourself or your band?
We've just released our 7th full cd album ( there's been a few vinyl releases too)  & shot a great video in the wall of death to promote one of the lead songs -

Last but not least, what makes this band tick?
We've always wanted to make the music we love current & not a nostalgic trip . We've tried to give something back to the genre & thrive on live gigs to any audience, ensuring they leave with a lasting impression of our brand of Rockin !
