How would you describe your style of music?
Straight-up old school Rockabilly with a bit of Heat!
How did you get into this style of music? Being raised right!
How did you come up with your band name? The BopThrills is a play on the classic 1956 Sun Records release titled "Bop Pills” by Macy Skipper. It didn't hurt that The BopThrills are heavily inspired by the boppin’ sounds of Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps & were built from the ground-up to deliver hopped-up, hot-rodded energetic stage performances for real thrill seekers...
What is the background of your band members?
All members of The BopThrills are no strangers to the long heritage revolving around New England Rockabilly.
Jumpin’ Jeff Deware - No stranger to the scene, Jeff is son of the famed Gamma Rays (RI) front-man; John Deware.
Screamin’ Scotty Lyons- Scotty got his start back in the late 90's with The Young Ones (RI), but went on to have a solo career recording for Wild Hare Records.
The Swinger Jack Hanlon - Former upright bassist for the the Amazing Crowns aka The Amazing Royal Crowns (RI) & The Throttles (RI).
Dana Stewart - Front-man & drummer of the Infamous Boston Racket known as The Racketeers (MA).

What do you like the most about the Rockabilly scene?
Hard to say… We’ve all been diggin’ the music & stylings of the 1950's for so long, that we never stop to ponder such things. We do appreciate all our classy friends & fans who make every gig a truly special occasion.
Who are your music idols, who influences your music?
As one might expect, any list we could muster would be a mere. A few are Gene Vincent & the Blue Caps, Carl Perkins, Jimmy Wages, Pat Cupp, Hank Williams, Bob Luman.....
What future events do you have planned?
The BopThrills are excited to be invited to open the main stage on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the 3rd annual New England Shake-Up! Also hoping to have a full length out by sometime in summer of 2016.
Do your band members have day jobs or do they make their dime as professional musicians?
We're all day slaves in one way or another.
If day jobs, what type of work do they do?
You might find us keeping your ride in tip top shape, inventing a world class therapy, building a badass dog house bass, or just plain being creative.
Do you or any of your band members collect records? If so, what do you/ they collect?
We all collect. Music varies from rockabilly to country, blues etc.
Is there anything that you would like to add about yourself or your band?
We have high goals in which we plan to achieve. Thank you to anyone who supports our music!
Last but not least, what makes this band tick?
The BopThrills span several generations of Rockabillies.
The Bop Thrills are a new and upcoming East Coast traditional and wild Rockabilly band. This group formed after much talking between Jeff Deware and Scott Lyons. They decided to go full throttle and do what they set out to do, which was to create an authentic sound with a wild rocking flare to it. After the two decided that it was time, Jeff contacted Jack Hanlon and Stan Kozlowski to join the line up. Between the rocking vocals and stage persona of Jeff, the wonderful playing of Scott, the slapping of the doghouse bass by Jack and the superb drumming of Stan, the Bop Thrills are sure to have everyone dancing and sending the audience home remembering the show that they just witnessed. They performed fantastically this year at the New England Shake-Up!
